Meta Member Claims Muse Spark Will Surpass China's Model Kimi
Meta's superintelligence lab member Zengyi Qin publicly stated that Meta possesses stronger computing power and data, and that Muse Spark will ultimately surpass Chinese open-source models like Kimi. He pointed out that major American clients such as JPMorgan may turn to U.S. open models due to compliance issues, which could lead to Chinese labs losing some inference revenue. Zengyi Qin believes that Meta profits through Facebook and Instagram, while Chinese model companies rely more on model revenue. The comments section expressed skepticism, arguing that Meta has not suppressed Chinese models in the past two years and questioning JPMorgan's revenue contribution from Kimi. Some comments even mocked Zengyi Qin's reasoning ability, expressing concerns about Muse's model performance. Muse Spark 1.2 is set to open its weights, and Meta will become a new competitor to Kimi, DeepSeek, and Qwen, but direct assertions that Chinese models will be suppressed by computing power still require more evidence to support.
