Meta Launches Personal Superintelligent Assistant Advocating for Distributed AI Power Structure
Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg proposed providing personal superintelligence for free or at low cost to individuals and small businesses worldwide, while continuing to open-source some models to prevent excessive concentration of AI power. Meta will focus on creating highly privacy-protective personal agents for applications in health management, educational tutoring, content creation, and entrepreneurial support, while also promoting the deployment of AI infrastructure in communities to provide local employment and energy facilities. Zuckerberg advocates for the widespread distribution of superintelligence to replace the alignment of a single superintelligence with checks and balances in areas such as employment, national security, cybersecurity, and biological risks, with an independent board involved in model safety and release decisions.
