Agro-industrial exports reach 26.978 billion dollars in the first half, growing 17.3% year-on-year
Argentina's agro-industrial exports totaled 26.978 billion dollars in the first half of 2026, with a year-on-year growth of 17.3%. This increase represents 3.984 billion dollars more than in the same period of 2025. In June, exports amounted to 4.939 billion dollars, exceeding June of the previous year by 733 million dollars (+17.4%). The sector's growth contributed to an increase of more than 24% in the country's total goods exports, improving the trade surplus. The main sectors driving this growth were sunflower, beef and leather, and wheat. The pork sector stood out with a 130% increase in its exports, followed by sunflower (+128.5%), legumes (+118%), and cotton (+85%). However, the poultry sector experienced a decline of 38%, along with setbacks in the rice (-21%) and peanut (-3%) sectors. Projections from the Rosario Stock Exchange estimate that the agro sector will liquidate around 34.9 billion dollars in 2026, although this figure has been revised downwards due to the expected drop in international prices. Recent indicators show an improvement in the sector's activity, driven by the recovery of soybean harvests and an increase in biodiesel production.
