DDR4 Spot Price Rises 0.67%, Trading Volume Remains Low
The DDR4 spot price has increased by 0.67%, reaching $42.90, but the trading volume in the DRAM spot market is expected to remain low through the third quarter of 2026. According to a report from TrendForce, this is an increase from $42.61 on the 12th. The supply and demand in the DRAM market are still assessed as weak, and prices are expected to continue a slight upward trend. The reasons for the sluggish trading and price increase are analyzed as supply constraints of mature products and the uncertainty of final demand recovery. In the NAND flash market, the spot price of 512Gb TLC wafers has also risen by 0.39, but trading momentum is weakening. DDR4 is a mature DRAM specification used in existing servers and PCs, and major memory manufacturers are prioritizing production capacity for high-value products, leading to limited supply. This price trend aligns with the forecast for DDR4 price increases in the third quarter, and Morgan Stanley has stated that supply conditions are improving. However, it is difficult to conclude that the short-term rise in spot prices will guarantee a recovery in final demand. Changes in DRAM and DDR4 prices will impact the performance of domestic semiconductor companies, and factors such as contract prices, customer inventory, and allocation of high-value product production must also be considered.
