Over 11,214 Entrepreneurs Received Tax Benefits Due to the War
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 11,214 businesses and individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine have been exempted from paying taxes and fines due to property destruction and loss of documents. In 2023, 2,292 taxpayers took advantage of this support. Kyiv and Mykolaiv region lead in the number of benefits granted. The most decisions since 2022 have been received by taxpayers in the following regions: Kyiv - 3,191, Mykolaiv region - 971, Chernihiv - 879, Zaporizhzhia - 650, Kharkiv - 283. The right to temporary dismissal is regulated by the Tax Code of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance Order No. 225 dated July 29, 2022. Grounds for application include complete or partial destruction of premises, destruction of computer equipment, or loss of fixed assets. The mechanism allows for the extension of deadlines for reporting and tax payments, as well as exemption from fines. The taxpayer must submit an application and supporting documents, which are reviewed within 20 calendar days. After a positive decision, tax obligations must be fulfilled within six months after the end of martial law.
