Google Launches Gemini 3.7 Flash with Limited-Time Price Reduction
CoinWorld reports:
Google has released Gemini 3.7 Flash and is reducing its API prices by 50% until the end of this year. This update comes about three weeks after the launch of 3.6 Flash, indicating that Google is accelerating model iterations and enhancing the position of the Flash series within its product line.
Price Reduction Until Year-End
According to Google's announcement, Gemini 3.7 Flash will have a limited-time price until the end of the year: $0.75 per million tokens for input and $3.75 per million tokens for output, which is about half of the original price of 3.6 Flash. Meanwhile, 3.6 Flash will also see a 50% price reduction.
This adjustment allows Google to continue strengthening its position in the low-cost model market. Reports indicate that compared to xAI's Grok 4.6, Gemini 3.7 Flash is also priced lower.
- Input Price: $0.75 per million tokens
- Output Price: $3.75 per million tokens
- Limited-Time Period: Until the end of this year
Enhancements in Coding and Web Development
Google positions the new model as a key product for coding and agent scenarios. The company states that Gemini 3.7 Flash has improved in tool invocation, debugging, and multi-step execution, aiming to reduce iterative cycles and enhance the completion rate of long-chain tasks.
From the disclosed test results, Gemini 3.7 Flash shows significant improvements over 3.6 Flash in several coding and web development benchmarks. The FrontierCode score increased from 34.4% to 43.6%, DeepSWE from 48.6% to 65.3%, and the Elo score in WebDev Arena rose from 1538 to 1588.
In knowledge-intensive tasks, improvements are also notable. The GDP.pdf benchmark for complex PDF understanding increased from 22.0% to 34.0%, and AutomationBench from 17.0% to 30.4%.
- FrontierCode: 34.4% to 43.6%
- DeepSWE: 48.6% to 65.3%
- AutomationBench: 17.0% to 30.4%
Rising Position of the Flash Series
With the increased frequency of updates, Google is moving the Flash series from lightweight, low-cost models to a more central product position. Reports suggest that Flash is no longer just a choice for high cost-performance invocation but is taking on more tasks that were originally covered by flagship models.
Currently, the release date for the new version of Google's Pro series remains unclear. Over the past few months, Google has consecutively launched 3.5 Flash, 3.6 Flash, and 3.7 Flash, while the Pro series has remained at earlier versions, leading to greater public interest in how Google will delineate the positioning of the Flash and Pro product lines in the future.
