Goldman Sachs: Global Bond Issuance Decreased by 16% Year-on-Year Last Week

Global bond issuance decreased by 16% year-on-year last week, but the total issuance since the beginning of the year is still 9% higher than the same period last year. Investment-grade corporate bond issuance increased by 60%, while high-yield bond issuance fell by 41%, and leveraged loan issuance plummeted by 88%. Issuance in the financial sector rose by 38%, while structured finance issuance dropped by 64%. At the same time, the asset sizes of ETFs tracking the S&P and MSCI indices increased by 32% and 36%, respectively.
