Estonia Allocates 340,000 Euros for Ukraine's Winter Preparation

Estonia will allocate 340,000 euros for the winter preparation of Ukrainians living near the front lines. The funds will be used for heating housing, setting up accommodation for displaced persons, and two mobile emergency aid points for Ukrainian rescuers. The largest portions of the funding—160,000 euros each—will go to the non-governmental organization Mondo and the Estonian Refugee Council. Mondo will direct the funds towards winter preparations for 13 accommodation centers for internally displaced persons in the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions, providing them with heating equipment and materials. Repairs and improvements in thermal insulation will be carried out in two centers, benefiting around 860 displaced persons. Another 160,000 euros will assist families in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, covering part of the costs for heating homes and maintaining livestock during the winter. The Estonian Rescue Association will receive 20,000 euros to equip two mobile emergency aid points for the State Emergency Service in affected areas. These points will allow people to warm up, charge devices, and receive psychological support. In January, Estonia had already allocated around 400,000 euros for winter assistance to Ukraine.
