DJ Kavinsky, Author of 'Nightcall', Passes Away

French DJ Kavinsky, known for his 2010 hit 'Nightcall', passed away at the age of 50 in his home in Paris on July 28. The Paris Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the circumstances of his death, although no suspicious elements were found at the scene. Born Vincent Belorgey on July 31, 1975, Kavinsky was a key figure in the French Touch electronic music scene. His international fame was solidified after 'Nightcall' was featured in Nicolas Winding Refn's 2011 film 'Drive'. Kavinsky had released the track, produced by Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, a year earlier. In addition to his music career, he participated in film projects with director Quentin Dupieux. He released two albums: 'OutRun' in 2013 and 'Reborn' in 2022. Kavinsky had musical commitments scheduled for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as performances in France, Mexico, and Los Angeles.
