Boca Concerned: Adam Bareiro Could Miss Entire Season
Adam Bareiro will not be part of the squad for the match against O'Higgins in the Copa Sudamericana due to a blockage in the lumbar area caused by a herniated disc. Boca's concern is that the 30-year-old forward may need surgery, similar to what happened to Edinson Cavani. If Bareiro recovers on his own, he could return in 21 days; otherwise, surgery would involve an estimated recovery time of 90 days, which would cause him to miss most of the season. Cavani's situation, who was absent for 129 days after surgery, raises concerns within the club. Meanwhile, Juan Román Riquelme and the board are looking for a reinforcement for the attack. Three names are on the list: David Romero from Tigre, Luciano Gondou from CSKA Moscow, and Lucas Passerini from Belgrano. Tigre would be willing to accept an offer of 12 million dollars for Romero, including a loan for Kévin Zenón. Gondou is favored by Riquelme, but he seems to be the furthest from the three. Passerini has been praised by the president of Belgrano, who stated that they have not received formal offers. Boca will face the return match with only one forward, Miguel Merentiel, who scored the only goal in the first leg.
