WLFI Investment of $75 Million, Potential Profits Linked to Trump Family Corporations
World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has been linked to Gu Run 'Bobby' Zhou, who is under investigation for money laundering, as the backer of a $100 million investment. Reports indicate that up to $75 million of this investment could go to corporations associated with the Trump family. The Aqua1 Foundation announced that it purchased $100 million worth of WLFI tokens on June 26, 2025, marking it as the largest single investment in WLFI. Zhou was arrested in the UK in 2021 on money laundering charges and is still under investigation. Aqua Labs Investment stated that Zhou is a co-founder and that it is an Abu Dhabi corporation. In May, Zhou discussed investment matters with Eric Trump in Dubai and later appeared on X Livestream, claiming they are major participants in the 'Trump family's crypto venture.' According to WLFI's website, a structure exists where corporations related to the Trump Organization receive 75% of the token sale proceeds, which means that up to $75 million of the Aqua1 Foundation's investment could go to Trump family-related corporations. A lawyer for WLFI stated that WLFI is not a security but a digital asset that provides real utility.
