Ali Releases Qwen3.8-Flash-Next Preview Based on Qwen4 Architecture

Ali has launched a preview page for Qwen3.8-Flash-Next on ModelScope, set to be publicly released on August 26 at 23:00. This multimodal MoE (Mixture of Experts) model is based on the Qwen4 architecture, and the early release aims to prepare the community for the upcoming complete Qwen4 model family. This release is not the official version of Qwen4, but rather a technical preview of Qwen4. Ali was the first to introduce Gated DeltaNet and standard attention mixture architecture in 2025, and the Qwen3.5 series continued to utilize this design. Earlier this month, Ali released the Qwen3.8-Max with 2.4T parameters, maintaining a rapid pace.
