Vitalik posted on the X platform stating that Minimax H3 is the first open video model he has seen that performs better than HunyuanVideo 1.5. He noted that Tencent Hunyuan's ability to maintain a leading position over the long term is also an impressive achievement. He pointed out that previous cutting-edge models in images and videos seemed to be more closed off compared to cutting-edge text LLM models, and that H3 represents an important step towards openness. Vitalik also mentioned that Signal is developing a feature that allows users to register accounts without a phone number, citing three major positive implications: reducing reliance on highly oligopolistic phone number systems, lowering the risk of SIM card hijacking, and preventing governments from blocking domestic users through phone numbers. He believes that by 2026, the concept of "pseudo-anonymity" will be a "dead concept" because behavioral patterns such as message timing, contact frequency, and message size, combined with AI's powerful analytical capabilities, create too many channels for identity recognition, making it difficult to truly evade identification.
