Russia Bans Import of Peaches from Turkey

Russia has imposed a ban on the import of peaches and other stone fruits from Turkey after Turkey agreed to security guarantees for Ukraine. The ban includes apricots, cherries, sweet cherries, peaches, and nectarines from five Turkish enterprises. The ban was implemented by Rosselkhoznadzor due to the detection of quarantine threats in stone fruit products. This decision was announced shortly after a meeting between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha in Kyiv, where Fidan confirmed Turkey's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and its readiness to lead the maritime component of security guarantees. Similar measures were previously introduced by the Kremlin when relations with Armenia deteriorated, leading to new trade preferences for Armenia from the European Union.
