New Era Secures 757MW Permit for Texas Data Center

New Era Energy and Digital has secured construction permits for its Texas artificial intelligence data center project and announced the submission of Form 10-Q in the second quarter of 2026. The combined capacity of the Texas Critical Data Centers' phases 1 and 2 is presented as approximately 757MW. The company has obtained the TCDC construction permit and plans to hold a business briefing at 5 PM on the 17th. Permits for the development structure and access road have been received in Ector County, and the site plan for phase 1 has been submitted. Approval for the pre-construction notice from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has also been obtained. The site size has been adjusted to 493 acres with the acquisition of an additional access parcel of 54 acres. The power partner for phase 2 has submitted a power permit application for 550MW, and the power purchase agreement for phase 1 is in the 'advanced negotiation' stage. As of June 30, 2026, cash assets are reported at $84.8 million, with a Macquarie facility balance of $270 million. In data center development, site and power are separate issues, requiring local government permits and environmental approvals. This announcement presents the securing of permits, site clearing, power negotiations, and liquidity status simultaneously, with the actual commencement of construction to be confirmed at the business briefing on the 18th.
