NERC Approves Project for Water Supply Tariff Inspections
The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved a project for the procedure of control inspections of water supply and wastewater tariffs set by local authorities. The project includes scheduled and unscheduled inspections without the need to visit local self-government bodies, based on documents and calculations provided by local authorities. NERC will assess compliance with decision-making procedures, the legality of calculations, and the justification of expenses. Law No. 4777-IX dated February 10, 2026, stipulates that during martial law and for 12 months after its termination, the establishment of water tariffs remains with local authorities, while control inspections are the responsibility of NERC. The regulator invites local self-government bodies and public organizations to discuss the project. Starting August 1, new tariffs for centralized water supply and wastewater will come into effect in Lviv, amounting to 56.38 UAH per cubic meter including VAT.
