MoonPay Apologizes for False Report of Hippo MooDeng's Death, Pauses AI Intern Project Testing
Cryptocurrency payment company MoonPay issued an apology on the X platform for mistakenly posting a tweet about the death of internet celebrity hippo MooDeng. The incident stemmed from a test of its AI intern project "AI Intern V1.0," which was deemed a failure, leading to the project's suspension and being "sent back for repairs." MoonPay confirmed that MooDeng is in good condition, "still chubby, very happy, and quite healthy." The company expressed regret for any potential false alarms and market concerns caused by the earlier tweet, noting that the AI agent project still requires improvements before its official launch, and the related tweet has been deleted.
