Singapore Police Reveal $11.8 Million Loss in Cryptocurrency Scam

The Singapore Police and the Cyber Security Agency have reported that a cryptocurrency scam involving fake recruitment and malware has resulted in a loss of $11.8 million. The scam group impersonated recruiters from cryptocurrency companies on LinkedIn, sent emails using forged domain names, conducted video interviews, and tricked victims into downloading malware on company devices to complete a "technical test." This led to the theft of session tokens, bypassing multi-factor authentication, and ultimately transferring cryptocurrency.
