Kryvyi Rih Receives Equipment from GIZ for Winter Period

Kryvyi Rih has received a batch of equipment and special machinery from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) as part of the EMPOWER project. The supply is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the city's infrastructure during the winter period. The Chairman of the Defense Council of Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported that the technical means were distributed among the municipal enterprises and educational institutions of the city. The utility company 'Kryvbassvodokanal' received 5 solar power plants, 6 sets of batteries, and a Mercedes-Benz Arocs dump truck with a HIAB-CraneX-DUO crane. The utility company 'Kryvorizhthermalnet' accepted a JCB 3CX 14M3WA wheeled backhoe loader for repairs on the heating networks. The 'Fast Tram' utility was equipped with 2 sets of solar panels with a capacity of 60 kilowatts each, along with batteries. Gymnasiums No. 19, 122, 45, 68, Kryvyi Rih Ternivskyi Lyceum, and Lyceum No. 24 received backup power systems, each consisting of an inverter and 12 batteries with a capacity of 60 kWh and a voltage of 614.4 V. The transferred equipment is expected to accelerate the restoration of water supply and heating in emergency situations. Vilkul noted that previously, more than 1,000 generators and 50 solar power plants had been installed at critical infrastructure facilities in Kryvyi Rih.
