Injective Registers as a Transfer Agent with the SEC

By: coin-turk.com|2026/08/24 20:02:20

Injective has registered as a transfer agent with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This development has granted it a regulated role in critical areas such as maintaining securities ownership records and processing ownership changes. The registration enhances Injective's capacity to support regulated financial markets, going beyond being a blockchain infrastructure provider. Transfer agents maintain records of securities owners and process ownership changes, which is considered one of the fundamental components of capital market infrastructure. Injective's new status could bridge the gap between transfer agent functions and assets operating on its financial blockchain. However, the SEC emphasizes that the use of blockchain does not eliminate existing obligations. Requirements such as record-keeping, reporting, and asset protection remain in effect. This move is part of Injective's strategy focused on real-world assets, supported by a pilot project conducted with POSCO International and LG CNS. The long-term impact will depend on financial institutions' willingness to utilize this infrastructure.
