Injective Obtains SEC Transfer Agent Registration to Expand Tokenization Efforts
Injective Secures SEC Transfer Agent Registration
Injective, a finance-focused Layer 1 (L1) blockchain, has completed its registration as a transfer agent with the SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) through its affiliate, Injective Institutional Services.
Breaking News: Injective has officially become a SEC-registered transfer agent! This move enables Injective to accelerate tokenization by establishing the necessary RWA infrastructure and regulatory compliance.
As a result, the company has set up a system for legally managing the ownership of tokenized assets within the regulatory framework of traditional securities markets. Transfer agents are institutions responsible for maintaining official ownership records of securities, processing name changes, and handling dividend distributions.
In traditional blockchain environments, the discrepancy between on-chain data and off-chain official records has been a challenge. However, with this registration, Injective can now support legally compliant ownership management on the blockchain in an integrated manner.
The company plans to integrate this functionality into its tokenization platform, Injective Mint, providing a seamless experience from issuance to transfer, settlement, and official record management. It aims to further advance RWA-related initiatives, such as futures trading for pre-IPO companies and stock trading for cryptocurrency-holding companies, thereby building a foundation for institutional investors to enter the market in earnest.
Market Reaction and Key Indicators
Following this announcement, the cryptocurrency market reacted immediately. The price of Injective's native token, INJ, surged by approximately 8-10%, rising to around $4.40 (¥700). Its market capitalization reached approximately $450 million (about ¥71.5 billion), with trading volume also increasing.
As discussions on U.S. cryptocurrency legislation and regulatory movements gain global attention, Injective's efforts, having obtained the rights as an official securities transfer agent, are highly regarded in the market as a significant practical example bridging DeFi (decentralized finance) and traditional finance.
