Ripple Donates $300,000 for Flood Disaster in Nepal and Tibet
Ripple has pledged $300,000 in emergency aid following the flood disaster in Nepal and Tibet. The assistance will be directed towards meeting basic needs in the affected areas through World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps. According to a statement made on August 29, the support will be used for emergency food distribution, clean water, and sanitation efforts. The floods caused severe damage, particularly in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot regions near the Chinese border. According to World Central Kitchen, more than 100 people have lost their lives, and uncertainty continues for hundreds more. The disaster occurred after a glacier-related icefall temporarily blocked the flow of the Lhende Khola River, leading to sudden water surges. The debris accumulation from the initial collapse has increased the risk of a second wave of flooding. Ripple has long supported humanitarian aid projects and had established a partnership with Water.org in 2025 to combat food and water insecurity. According to the 2025 Impact Report, the company stated that its employees raised $550,000 for non-profit organizations worldwide. Additionally, employee donations and corporate matching contributions have exceeded $2 million since 2018.
