Samsung SDS Partners with Dunamu to Advance Stablecoin Infrastructure and AI Payment Services
Samsung SDS is collaborating with Dunamu, the parent company of Upbit, to advance their cooperation in the digital asset sector, discussing stablecoin infrastructure, integration of virtual asset financial systems, and AI-based payment services, with plans to clarify specific business models. Samsung SDS CEO Lee Jun-hee stated that the investment in Dunamu is a strategic investment aimed at entering the digital asset infrastructure business. The two parties will combine Dunamu's blockchain expertise with Samsung SDS's capabilities in IT services, AI, cloud computing, and security to strengthen digital financial infrastructure. Samsung SDS reported a 5.9% year-on-year increase in revenue for the second quarter, reaching 3.7178 trillion KRW, and an operating profit increase of 0.7% to 231.8 billion KRW. Revenue from cloud services grew by 17% year-on-year to 779.4 billion KRW, with external cloud service revenue increasing by 75%. The company plans to scale its AI infrastructure from 110 megawatts to 230 megawatts and expand the overall scale to over 800 megawatts by 2031.
