Offchain Labs Co-founder Claims Arbitrum's Decisions Were Once Questioned, Industry Aligning Direction
Offchain Labs co-founder Steven Goldfeder stated that Arbitrum is ahead of its time in several aspects. The team advocated for interactive proof design, which was controversial at the time but has now become the standard for optimistic Rollups; they chose to establish a business while the business model was still debated; they focused on DeFi when most people did not understand perpetual contracts and many had given up on DeFi; they launched a dedicated blockchain when the industry widely believed that more chains were unnecessary. Each time they faced backlash, but now the industry is aligning with the direction they set from day one: building robust and high-performance financial infrastructure. Goldfeder expressed pride in the Offchain team's ability to deliver world-class products at a rapid pace and stated that they will continue to deliver, even if most people currently do not understand its necessity; the industry will soon understand.
