Five Chinese Robotics Startups Valued Over 20 Billion Yuan
As of June 2026, there are eight humanoid robot-related companies in China with valuations reaching or exceeding 20 billion yuan, five of which are valued primarily based on models rather than shipment volumes, maintaining an annual shipment level of around a hundred units. In the second quarter, financing in the humanoid robot sector reached 6.95 billion USD, more than double that of the previous quarter. The cost of data collection varies significantly across different stages: frontline operators earn about 20 to 40 yuan per hour, while outsourced labor costs around 25 yuan; the internal cost for companies involving robots is about 250 yuan; and the data sold by government-supported training bases ranges from 500 to 1000 yuan. The quality and training effectiveness of data produced through different collection methods vary significantly, with only about 50 hours of usable data from 100 hours of raw collection. The data measurement units used by different companies are incompatible, and there is a lack of independent auditing, leading to considerable uncertainty in valuation bases. The industry urgently needs to establish unified standards for measuring data assets.
