Cynthia Lummis Criticizes Democrats Before Clarity Act Vote
Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis criticized Democrats regarding the crypto Clarity Act ahead of a crucial Senate vote next week. Lummis responded to a Semafor article indicating that Republican senators believe the bill may fail. The vote, initially expected in August, was delayed and is now scheduled for next week. Lummis warned that if the bill does not pass, there may not be another opportunity before the end of the decade. She stated that failure would not be due to ethics but rather Democrats' refusal to support a bipartisan bill aimed at protecting consumers and enhancing U.S. leadership in digital assets. Lummis accused Democrats of demanding changes that could jeopardize the crypto industry and emphasized the need for compromise from them. The Clarity Act aims to establish a framework for regulatory oversight of digital assets, distinguishing between securities, commodities, and stablecoins. Although the House passed the bill last July, it has faced delays due to conflicts between the banking lobby and crypto companies. A revised draft addressing ethics concerns has circulated, but some Democrats still seek amendments. Former President Donald Trump has urged lawmakers to pass the legislation to maintain U.S. leadership in Bitcoin and crypto.

Apple Foldable Event Nears | WEEX TradFi Daily(September 9, 2026)
Global markets are focused on Apple’s fall product event, firmer energy prices, and the renewed valuation pressure on risk assets. Apple shares retreated ahead of the launch as investors weighed foldable-device pricing, on-device AI monetization, and potential sell-the-news volatility. Energy equities benefited from supply-risk repricing, which also reinforced sticky-inflation concerns and a higher-for-longer rates narrative. In crypto, bitcoin eased toward the mid-$78,000 range; although spot ETF inflows remain supportive, positioning has turned more defensive in the face of rising hike expectations. After the close, AeroVironment earnings and Apple’s product details could shape the next move across tech and thematic trades.
