45 Ukrainian Manufacturers Granted Defence City Resident Status
45 Ukrainian arms manufacturers have become residents of the special legal regime Defence City, with a total income exceeding 93.5 billion UAH. This regime allows for the reservation of workers, simplifies export procedures, and protects data on production capacities. By the end of May 2026, 31 manufacturers had resident status, after which an additional 14 enterprises joined them. The project was created with the participation of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to scale domestic production. The advisor to the Minister of Defense, Anna Hvozdiyar, noted that scaling Defence City represents a transition to a systematic model for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. Resident status provides enterprises with tax and customs benefits, support for the relocation of facilities, increased protection of production sites, restricted access to sensitive information, and simplified export procedures. In January, the procedures for state export control for Defence City were simplified.
