Wikipedia Co-founder: Bitcoin may drop below $10,000 by 2050

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales stated on social media, "Those who think Bitcoin will go to zero are likely mistaken. Its design is robust enough that it will continue to exist unless there is an unforeseen cryptographic collapse or an unexpected 51% attack (even in those cases, I believe it could continue to exist through forking).

However, Bitcoin may drop to a price level that is only suitable for enthusiasts to play with. Since it has completely failed as a currency or a store of value, it cannot become the dominant currency of the future. Therefore, I suggest setting a price target for 2050 at below $10,000 in present value, and it may even be far below that level."
