Virtual Wallets Surpass Fixed-Term Deposits in Interest Rates
Virtual wallets in Argentina have gained popularity following improvements in the interest rates offered. Some platforms have outperformed fixed-term deposits in the past week. The average yield on interest-bearing accounts has improved, although rates vary significantly between applications. Banco Bica leads with 22%, followed by Cocos Pay at 20.81% and Ualá (FCI) at 20.08%. Carrefour Banco and Fiwind recorded a 20% yield, while Personal Pay, Mercado Pago, and Naranja X presented yields of 18.98%, 18.62%, and 18%, respectively. Although several wallets outperform fixed-term deposits, they do not reach the best rates offered by banks. The main difference between wallets and fixed-term deposits is the availability of funds; interest-bearing accounts allow immediate access, while fixed-term deposits immobilize capital until maturity. Fixed-term rates range from 16% to 23% annually. Wallets are convenient for those seeking liquidity and yield, although rates can be more variable.
