Trump Media Sells 2,628 Bitcoin, Total Sales Reach 7,281 BTC
Trump Media has sold 2,628 Bitcoin (BTC) for approximately 165 million dollars, increasing losses on its treasury acquired near peak prices. The company has activated Truth API, a paid service providing institutions quicker access to Donald Trump's Truth Social posts. Total Bitcoin sales are now at 7,281 BTC, originally purchased at an average price of 118,522 dollars per coin for a total of 1.37 billion dollars. As of March 31, the company reported holding 9,542.16 BTC with a cost basis of 1.13 billion dollars, plus 2,000 BTC pledged against options. The average exit price has been 74,855 dollars, leading to an estimated combined loss of 555 million dollars. Currently, 4,260.73 BTC is pledged against convertible notes, with restrictions lifting by May 29, 2028. Bitcoin is trading around 63,471 dollars, significantly lower than its October 2025 peak of 126,080 dollars. A mark-to-market loss of 243.96 million dollars on digital assets contributed to a quarterly net loss of 405.9 million dollars. Truth API, launched on August 1, has pricing starting at 100,000 dollars per month, decreasing to 60,000 dollars with a three-year commitment. The service generated 871,200 dollars in revenue in the first quarter, a 6% increase year-over-year. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have requested an SEC investigation into potential securities law violations related to the product.
