Trump Suggests Oil Prices May Need to Rise Again

On August 5, at an event in Las Vegas, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that oil prices have recently fallen and stabilized, saying, "We may have to let it go up again," but he "hopes it won't come to that." Trump did not elaborate further on his comments. The Associated Press noted that despite Trump's repeated assurances that the conflict with Iran is nearing an end, oil prices typically rise again when tensions flare up between the two sides.
