Tether Freezes 39.27 Million USDT Linked to Xinbi Guarantee
Tether blocked a total of 39,273,713 USDT on the Tron network on September 8, 2026, belonging to addresses associated with Xinbi Guarantee, an informal Chinese custody market. The freeze was detected by MistTrack, an on-chain analysis platform. The funds were distributed across 10 addresses, with the address TWPma8xH48AEN93x2krdukV9e1j6sPsBeS concentrating more than 10.7 million USDT. Tether has the ability to blacklist addresses, preventing transfers from those accounts. In 2026, the company has frozen 4.2 billion dollars due to links with illicit activities. Xinbi Guarantee primarily operates through Telegram and online platforms, acting as an intermediary in anonymous cryptocurrency transactions. Despite presenting itself as neutral, it is considered by analysis firms to be one of the largest networks of illicit financial infrastructure. The UK government imposed sanctions on Xinbi on March 26, 2026. Following the freeze, Xinbi announced that it would only accept deposits to an address associated with USDD, another stablecoin on the Tron network.
