SharpLink Institutional Holdings Increase by 60%
The institutional investor ownership stake in SharpLink Gaming has increased to approximately 60% according to the latest 13F filings. This reflects a growing trend of traditional financial institutions participating in equity stakes in publicly traded companies that hold Ethereum (ETH) as a financial asset. In a statement released on the 18th, SharpLink Gaming reported that the institutional ownership percentage of common shares rose by about 12 percentage points compared to the previous quarter. Major institutional holders include Fidelity, BlackRock, and Highbridge Capital Management. Since March 31, over 50 institutional investors have opened new positions, and existing holders have also increased their stakes. CEO Joseph Chalom stated that the increase in institutional holdings reflects a broader recognition of long-term Ethereum opportunities and the platform among investors. As of June 30, SharpLink Gaming purchased 10,000 ETH for $16.1 million, with the held ETH linked to a staking strategy. The company also conducted a share buyback, acquiring 2,132,773 shares at an average price of $4.69 between June 24 and June 26. Additionally, SharpLink Gaming was included in the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indices on June 29.
