Seoul Foreign Exchange Market: MAR Trading at Zero Before 9 AM, NDF Fixing Position Neutral

In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the MAR (Market Average Exchange Rate) quotes were traded at a level of zero (0) before 9 AM on the 25th. The Non-Deliverable Forward (NDF) fixing position was also recorded as square, indicating that the pre-opening transaction volume did not lean in a specific direction. The dollar-won spot MAR price was traded at zero. MAR refers to the market average exchange rate, which is a benchmark price calculated based on dollar-won spot transactions executed in the Seoul foreign exchange market. The square NDF fixing position means that the fixing volume that domestic market participants need to handle after the opening is neutral, indicating that there is no accumulation of pressure on either side of dollar buying or selling. This trend aligns with the previously confirmed pre-opening MAR quotes, and our report on the 21st also indicated that the MAR quotes were traded at zero before 9 AM and that the NDF fixing position was recorded as square. This figure is limited to the MAR trading and NDF fixing position before 9 AM, and the intraday flow of dollar-won spot transactions needs to be verified separately based on actual supply and demand and transaction prices formed after the opening.
