San Luis Raffles Gold for Tourists During Winter Vacation
The province of San Luis will distribute tourist gold during the winter break. Small samples of 18-carat gold, extracted from local streams, will be raffled by the municipality of La Carolina. This village of 300 inhabitants will hold a daily draw among the tourists who visit, starting on July 18 and extending for 10 days. The nuggets are extracted by local miners, maintaining a handcrafted tradition of over two centuries. The Secretary of Tourism, Roxana Lucero Zavala, indicated that the more days one visits the village, the more chances there are to win. No prior registration is required, just keep the parking ticket from the Pedestrian Village. The raffles will take place live at 6:00 PM in the Tourist Information office, and only tickets issued that same day will participate. The winner must present their receipt to claim the prize.
