Rain Completes Fix for Vulnerability in Legacy Solana Contracts
Rain has fixed a vulnerability found in some programs using legacy Solana (SOL) contracts. On the 29th, the company announced on its official X account that the vulnerability in the legacy Solana contracts affected a small number of programs. Other programs were not impacted, and the related issues have been resolved. After discovering the vulnerability, Rain initiated an investigation to determine the scope of the incident and upgraded all programs using the legacy Solana contracts. They have hired external forensic experts to conduct the investigation and will cooperate with law enforcement and relevant regulatory agencies. Rain stated that they would fully compensate affected users, and the compensation process has already begun. The vulnerability was described as being limited to certain programs using legacy Solana contracts, rather than affecting Rain's entire payment infrastructure. Rain did not disclose the names of the affected programs, the scale of the damage, the technical causes, or the timeline for completing compensation. In security incidents, not only the vulnerability itself but also the speed of response after detection and whether user losses are compensated become key issues. Rain has presented a comprehensive approach that includes monitoring, upgrades, external forensics, cooperation with authorities, and a full compensation policy.
