Potential Reduction in GE Vernova's Weight Amid Growing Caution on AI Stocks
In the U.S. stock market, GE Vernova (GEV) has been mentioned as a candidate for weight reduction. As concerns grow regarding AI data center-related stocks, the gas turbine business targeting data center power demand is gaining attention. Jim Cramer, a CNBC host, stated that AI trading is 'currently broken,' and as the issue of data center expansion shifts into the political arena, he has reduced the weight of some AI-related stocks. He explained that he significantly cut his position in Broadcom (AVGO). GE Vernova is a company that manufactures natural gas turbines, and AI data centers are facing issues with power grid access delays and electricity costs. AI data center trading encompasses various sectors, including semiconductors, servers, and power equipment, and the extent to which stock prices already reflect demand becomes a criterion for investor judgment. On this day, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell slightly on the New York Stock Exchange, with Micron dropping over 5.5%. Cramer mentioned that investors prefer defensive large-cap stocks over high-growth AI and tech stocks. This statement is interpreted as a portfolio adjustment considering the price burdens of related stocks and political issues, rather than a judgment that the demand for AI infrastructure has disappeared.
