Hermes Token Reaches 34.4 Trillion, Ranking First on OpenRouter
The Hermes Agent has recorded a cumulative total of 34.4 trillion tokens and achieved the global number one ranking on the OpenRouter public app metrics. OpenClaw ranked fifth with 4.47 trillion tokens. Hermes utilized 411 models, while OpenClaw used 377 models. Hermes ranked first in productivity, coding agents, personal agents, and command-line interface (CLI) agent categories, while OpenClaw ranked second in productivity and personal agents, and fifth in coding agents and CLI agents. Hermes began its activities in March 2026, while OpenClaw started in January of the same year. The cumulative tokens of Hermes are approximately 7.7 times that of OpenClaw. Both products serve as personal AI agents, where AI agents make judgments to perform tasks using external tools. OpenClaw focuses on executing commands, web browsing, and file management through messenger integration. Hermes is described as a 'self-improving AI agent,' featuring persistent memory, built-in learning loops, and over 40 built-in tools as core functionalities. According to DeepLearning.AI, some users have rated Hermes's token efficiency as low, but its skill improvement feature is considered a differentiator. Both Hermes and OpenClaw are included in OpenRouter's official connection guide.
