Belgian Fund Invests $6 Million in Rebuild Ukraine Fund
The Belgian development financial institution BIO has allocated $6 million to the Rebuild Ukraine Fund (REBUF), the first private equity fund established during the war to invest in the Ukrainian economy. The fund is managed by Dragon Capital. The agreement was signed on August 18, 2026, in Kyiv by REBUF director Andriy Nosok and BIO CEO Joris Totte. The ceremony was attended by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Prevo, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Vitaliy Kondratov, and Belgian Ambassador Luc Jacobs. Vitaliy Kondratov noted that the investment from Belgian BIO is a signal to the world about Ukraine's investment prospects. The REBUF fund supports small and medium enterprises in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agribusiness, and technology sectors. The fund plans to raise a total of $250 million, with the first closing taking place in January 2026 involving the EBRD and other organizations. BIO also supports Ukraine through other projects, investing €3 million in Bank Lviv and €7 million in NOTUS Energy.
