Arthur Hayes Mentions Potential 3-5x Increase for Ethereum
Arthur Hayes, the Chief Investment Officer of Maelstrom, has identified Ethereum (ETH) as the top digital asset from a risk-reward perspective, stating that it has the potential to rise 3-5 times if funds flow in. In an interview released on the 28th, Hayes noted that Ethereum is the only major cryptocurrency that has not surpassed its all-time high from 2021, explaining that its price recovery has lagged relatively. He assessed that Ethereum remains the foundational layer for decentralized finance (DeFi) and has a strong developer ecosystem. Hayes mentioned that in a bullish scenario, if funds return to Ethereum, it could quickly rise 3-5 times, although this is contingent on the influx of funds and the liquidity environment. Additionally, he explained that Ethereum is currently a better choice in terms of risk-reward compared to hyperliquidity. Hayes revealed that he has purchased hyperliquidity through the Maelstrom fund and realized profits. He also mentioned Etena (ENA) from a risk-reward perspective, adding that Bitcoin's directionality and macro liquidity influence the flow of funds into Ethereum and altcoins.
