$1.41 Billion in Tokenized Stock Trading During U.S. Market Closure
During the period when the U.S. stock market was closed, the trading volume of tokenized stocks reached $1.41 billion. Trading of blockchain-based stock-linked products continued, with data from CoinGecko indicating that transactions occurred for 42 major tokens. The weekend trading volume was $1.01 billion, while Friday's trading volume was similar at $1.02 billion. The trading volume on Labor Day was $398.3 million. By platform, Robinhood-related token trading had the highest volume at $572.8 million, followed by Bittocks at $305 million, Exstocks at $87.1 million, and OnDo Global Market at $43.8 million. The total market size for tokenized stocks was estimated at approximately $2.89 billion, with QQQB being the most traded product. The weekend trading volume for QQQB was $18.05 million, and its price was $719.36, showing little difference from Friday. Most trading took place on decentralized exchanges, and since tokenized stocks have a different legal structure from actual stocks, shareholder rights may not be provided. Although the U.S. spot market was closed for Labor Day, trading continued through DEX.
