How to Identify Fake WEEX Websites and Customer Service Impersonators

By: WEEX|2026-08-03 07:14:26

Fake WEEX websites and fake "customer service" accounts are not isolated incidents — they are impersonation at scale, with a public record to prove it. In the Taiwan National Police Agency 165 anti-fraud open dataset (pulled 2026-08-03), 37 domains and 144 reported cases were filed under the name "WEEX" — while the official domain, weex.com, has zero reports. The cases point at clone sites, not at the official site. This page shows you how to confirm whether a URL or a support account is official, and publishes the impersonation record we verified. For the platform-level picture — security, regulation and withdrawals — see Is WEEX a scam? Security, regulation and withdrawals explained.

1. The definitive check: run it through the official channel verifier

WEEX publishes an official channel verifier at https://www.weex.com/official-verification (labelled "Contact Verifier" in the site footer). Select the right category, paste in the website, email address, phone number, Telegram ID or social account you were contacted from, and it tells you whether that channel is official. Any published list goes out of date; the verifier does not — for any domain not listed on this page, the verifier's result is the answer.

Format matters (tested 2026-08-03). The verifier matches the string exactly, so a different format returns no match. For the website, enter www.weex.com (entering weex.com or adding https:// returns "not official"). For social accounts, use the @handle form — @weikecs, @WeexGlobal_Group — rather than a t.me link. So if a check comes back negative, re-run it in the formats above before drawing any conclusion; if it still returns nothing, treat the channel as unverified and confirm with support@weex.com.

Three URL habits

The guidance in WEEX's own imposters notice (weex.com/help/articles/6021635142169, dated 2022-04-24) is basic but effective:

  • Read the domain letter by letter. A malicious site can look identical to the real one; the difference is usually in the domain alone — one extra character, a different top-level domain, or "weex" respelled as "week".
  • Do not click links or images on a suspicious site.
  • When in doubt, ask the company directly — email support@weex.com, or check via the official channels below.

2. The domain record

The lists below come from two sources: the Taiwan National Police Agency 165 anti-fraud open data (the citizen-report dataset and the DNS-stop dataset, both pulled 2026-08-03), and WEEX's own published notices naming fake domains. Impersonation domains churn constantly, so this is a record, not a complete roster. For any domain not on this page, use the official channel verifier above; that, not this list, is the final test.

2.1 Domains blocked by government adjudication

The following four domains have been ordered to stop resolving, on application by the Criminal Investigation Bureau Anti-Fraud Center under Taiwan's Fraud Crime Hazard Prevention Act (source: the 165 "DNS-stopped fraudulent sites" open dataset):

DomainDNS stop effectiveLegal basisApplicant agency

2.2 Domains that are still live, or whose status is unclear

weexsr.com — still reachable when we probed it on 2026-08-03. The page title reads "WEEX", but the whole site is a roughly 1.7KB shell that loads none of weex.com's assets; the only working component is a third-party live-chat widget (SaleSmartly). That is the classic fake-customer-service fingerprint: no exchange on the site, just a chat window built to pull you into a conversation. The domain has been DNS-stopped by the government (ROC 115-06 / 2026-06) but still serves outside Taiwan.

coinweex.com — carries 2 citizen reports in the 165 dataset (2025/02/15–2025/02/21). Our 2026-08-03 probe was blocked by a Cloudflare challenge page and could not establish its current state, so this page states only that it has been reported to 165, and makes no further finding.

2.3 Domains WEEX has itself named as fake

WEEX has publicly named the following addresses in its own blog and help-centre notices:

  • weexglobo.com (named in an official blog post; that post has since been taken down — our 2026-08-03 probe found the domain itself defunct)
  • www.exweex.com, cryptojobsx.top, app.weexusdt.xyz, Shared2023.com, usweex.com, dexmarket8.top (help-centre imposters notice, 2022-04-24)
  • m.37910.cc (Zhihu public-service notice)

The official X account @weexglobal_ch also maintains a clone-domain tracker thread that has exposed 20+ further fake addresses (login required to view). One overlap is worth pointing out: www.exweex.com appears both in the 165 citizen-report data (9 cases, 2022) and on WEEX's own 2022 list of fake addresses — two independent sources corroborating the same record.

2.4 The historical impersonation record (now defunct)

The table below covers the remaining reported domains, all now dead. Its value is not "which URLs to watch today" — it is the pattern: the same naming playbook recurs from 2022 through 2025. Our 2026-08-03 probe found 39 of the 41 verified domains defunct (no DNS record, dead origin server, or registrar hold), and none redirected or canonicalised to weex.com.

3. How fake customer service works

The domain is only the doorway; the money leaves through the "support agent". WEEX's own clarification notices document the following methods:

  • Fake app download links — install files pushed from addresses outside the official app stores.
  • Screen-share or remote-control requests — framed as "helping you operate the account", in practice watching you type your password and codes.
  • Harvesting verification codes — SMS, email, or one-time two-factor codes.
  • Unsolicited direct messages about a frozen account — a "support agent" you never contacted appears with a freeze, a risk-control review, or a deposit needed to unlock funds, and applies time pressure.

Per those published notices, none of the above is part of official WEEX practice: it states that it will not ask you to share your screen or grant remote control, will not ask you for any verification code, will not direct-message you out of the blue about a frozen account, and will not serve app downloads from outside its official channels. If any of these appear, end the conversation — however convincing the avatar and display name are — and check the account through the verifier.

Scope of service: any third-party "WEEX wealth management / mining" offer is fake by definition

WEEX's help-centre notice on scope of service (article 13467072387097) states that it does not offer financial management, DeFi mining, staking or lending, and does not provide leveraged futures services on other platforms or through third-party institutions. That rule requires no judgement call: any "WEEX wealth management", "WEEX mining" or "WEEX managed trading" scheme routing your funds to another platform or a third party is by definition not WEEX — you need not inspect the URL to know it.

4. If you have already been targeted

  1. Stop transferring funds or crypto. Do not follow further instructions, and do not click any link or image sent to you.
  2. Report it to 165. Call the 165 anti-fraud hotline, or file online at 165.npa.gov.tw.
  3. Tell WEEX. Send the fake URL, conversation screenshots and the account handle to support@weex.com.
  4. Preserve evidence. Chat logs, transfer records, URLs and account names are all needed for a police report and for takedown requests.

5. Official channels — the only list worth memorising

Whenever a site, account, mailbox or phone number claims to be WEEX, run it through the official channel verifier first: https://www.weex.com/official-verification. It is the final authority behind every list on this page — enter each item in the exact format shown in brackets.

The same habit applies to tokens: what can and cannot be verified about Prom (PROM) shows how to check a token by its contract address rather than by its ticker, and what the published record does and does not contain.
